Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the Australis Fresh and Flawless pressed powder foundation.
This powder is a known cult favourite amongst the Australian beauty blogging/vlogging community and I wasn’t so sure I was going to try it out since I was so attached to my Rimmel stay matte pressed powder, but a trip to Priceline got the better of me (as it usually does) and I picked it up along with some lip liners, because who ever comes out with only one thing? not me that’s for sure.
This powder retails for $11.95 AUD from Priceline, who are currently having a 3 for 2 on all Australis products on their website.
There are three colours to choose from, dark brown, natural and deep natural. I chose the colour dark brown and find it matches my olive toned skin nicely. but could really match someone with even fairer skin as it is quite a nice beige shade.
As soon as I set my foundation with this powder I could see why it is so loved, it feels so silky smooth on the skin and blends like a dream. I love using this powder over all of my foundations but especially my heavier liquid foundations as it does give some extra coverage but doesn’t ever look cakey, so it’s perfect for occasions when you know you’ll be photographed.
I like to use my Real Techniques buffing brush to buff it into my skin to give a nice airbrushed finish. I definitely think this powder could take the place of my Rimmel stay matte pressed powder just because the formula is so nice.

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the Essence Matte effect lip gloss.
I picked up the colours 06 Soft Nude and 07 Silky red
Let me start by saying I love these lip glosses, they are so silky smooth on the lips. I wouldn’t say they were very matte though, but they also definitely aren’t a gloss which is tricky. In my opinion the best way to describe the finish is more like satin.
The above swatches have been applied directly from the tube with no lip liner.
The glosses are a little slippery on the lips, not to be confused with the Australis Velour Lips which set like concrete. These don’t really set at all, which I personally quite like as a change from the usual matte lip glosses that are on the market, but if you’re looking for a product that won’t budge then these probably won’t be for you.
I picked my glosses up at Priceline and can’t find them on the site for the life of me, but I don’t think they were any more than $6 AUD if that. My local store had 3 colours but was out of stock of the other shade.
Like I said, I really like these glosses and think they’re perfect as a ‘throw on and go’ lip product, easy to apply and smell great!

Hi everyone, today I’m back with a post on how I would style a maxi skirt for summer.
(Photo via Polyvore – Styled by me)
I am seriously loving maxi skirts for the Summer months and think they’re perfect for both day and night. Here I’ve styled three options, two that are more casual, lunch out with friends and one that is more date night appropriate.
You can even wear your maxi skirt for a day at the beach or even to the park they are such versatile pieces, finding the right maxi skirt can really make for such a pretty outfit without having to put too much thought into it.
Here I’ve styled all the looks with heels but I also think that depending on the style of maxi skirt you can get away wearing your skirt with a pair of strappy flat sandals and chunky jewelry and looks just as nice, sometimes I even dress mine up for work.
I really think that the maxi skirt is a wardrobe staple for Summer.
How do you style your maxi skirts, would you wear these outfits? let me know in the comments.
Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the highly sought after Australis Contour Kit.
In this kit you get six shades a lighter shade, a yellow toned shade a champagne highlighter and 3 darker sculpting shades all in rather large pans.
Let me start out by saying that these powders are so buttery and blend out like a dream, considering the price point for this product I wasn’t expecting it to be as great as it is!
To contour my face I use a Real Techniques contour brush and a large powder brush.
Using the large powder brush I dust the yellow shade under my eyes to brighten the area and then use the contour brush, the medium and darkest shades in the hollows of my cheeks, temple, forehead and the left over is dusted on my jawline.
The effect is a beautiful natural shadow that makes your face look more defined and put together. I find that I am able to get a great effect using this palette with and without foundation underneath.
For the hotter days I finish my look off with a dusting of bronzer and a bright blush over my cheeks to really amp it up.
This palette is sold in Priceline for $16.95 AUD and they sell like hotcakes so make sure you ring your local store to make sure they have them or order online.
Find it here

Hey everyone, today I’m back with where I buy my false lashes online.
Ever since I started my blog I’ve been really into practicing putting on false lashes, I’ve found that there are some that I like better than others and ones that suit my eye shape better than others, and they really pull a look together. I am currently loving Red cherry lashes!
I purchased mine off IKateHouse, they range from $1-$5 AUD on there so you know I grabbed a few. They also offer heaps of other brands of lashes (but I just went with what was familiar) These lashes are really good quality and I’ve found that with a good clean I can get quite a few wears out of them. To put them on I’ve been using Ardell glue and so far am really liking it. I’ve found that the glue peels off really easily when I’ve finished with them, and they don’t lose their shape.
to clean off the mascara I usually just gently rub a makeup wipe over them until there’s no mascara left on the lash. I’m not 100% sure if this is the best way, but it’s worked so far for me. And if you’ve found a better way to do it please share it in the comments.
As we all know I love a bargain so I thought you guys would love to hear about these affodable lashes, as Red cherry are really hard to come by in Australia as it is, let alone for $1!
let me know if you’ve found anywhere else online to buy your falsies in the comments.

Hey everyone, today I’m back with my favourite nail polish colours for winter some are a little cliché and others not so much.
Photo Via Polyvore
Top row – OPI Black Onyx, Butter London Royal Navy, Essie Tomboy no more, Elf Lilac, Butter London Hen Party
Bottom row – YSL Ambre Gingembre, Leighton Denny Pure paradise, OPI Amazon Amazoff, Essie Chocolate Cakes, Butter London Wellies & Silly Billy.
I Love my dark nail colours in the winter as much as the next girl, but I also really love some some bright shades that I think can transition into the cold winter months.
Orange, white, lime & murky greens and purples is what I really like. I just think that as much as I love a good taupe & dark nail, I always love some colour and try to incorporate it into my look wherever I can (But that’s just me)
Orange and green just get left out in the nail polish world, unless it’s runway or for a collection you dont see it a lot on the every day woman and I think that you’re missing out. they are such pretty colours for winter!
What shades do you love, What nail colour are you rocking at the moment?
Hey everyone, lets talk about those little eyeshadow sponge applicators that come with our beloved eye shadows that we always chuck.
Well stop right there because as I’ve found out recently, they are pretty handy.
I personally don’t like putting my fingers all over my cosmetics, I know some people like it and that it works for them (and there’s nothing wrong with that) I just personally try to avoid it wherever possible.
So when I was putting on my makeup and for whatever reason my usual brushes just weren’t really packing on the colour the way that I wanted, and I was about to succumb and use my finger to pack it on my eye lid. Until I saw this little guy in my brush role – brand new still in the plastic wrapping that it came in and boy oh boy am I glad I used it, because it works exactly the same as what my finger would have.
I just packed the colour on my brush and then pat the colour where I wanted, then blended it out using my usual blending brush.
so It just comes to show you that these little guys are useful!
