Lush Tea Tree Water Toner Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the Lush Tea tree water toner water.

For those of you who don’t know I have really oily skin, I’m talking UAE oil rig status and with that comes god awful sore pimples and other goodies.. TMI? okay well you get the picture.

So unfortunately I have committed skin care cardinal sin and use Proactiv as my current skin care routine, I know this stuff is pretty harsh on the skin but when you’re struggling with break outs and find something that works, you know I’m going to hold onto that with both hands. I have however been trying to find some more gentle skin care products to try and phase out my current routine and boy am I glad I found this little gem.

I came across this toner water when I was lining up at Lush with my arms full of as much Snow fairy body wash a girl could carry (a story for another time) and as I was waiting in the line going out the door, the lovely sales assistant introduced me to my skins new best friend.

This toner water is a blend of a Tea Tree Water (Melaleuca alternifolia), Grapefruit Water (Citrus paradisi)Juniperberry Water (Juniperus communis), *Limonene (*Limonene), Perfume (Perfume), Methylparaben. This toner is amazing, it’s calming on the skin and feels so refreshing and makes my skin look plumper. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to do that but my skin definitely looks more supple. Don’t let seeing the word perfume there scare you away either, I don’t notice a smell at all.

I have slipped this into my routine to replace my original toner and my skin didn’t react horribly, which in itself is amazing since I can’t change my moisturiser without my skin having a fit.

this toner retails for $9.95AUD for a 100g bottle or $19.95AUD for a 250g bottle (pictured above) It doesn’t feel like I’ve even made a dent in my bottle and I’ve had it for a few weeks now.

I apply my toner by holding the bottle a few centimetres away from my face and spraying it directly on my skin, you could also spray it onto a cotton round and pat it on your skin.

I definitely think it is worth the money and can’t see myself living without it now.

Have you used this product, did you love it as much as me? let me know in the comments

OXX Makeup review

He everyone, today I’m back with a review on the OXX makeup found in Kmart Australia stores.

While out browsing the makeup section in Kmart (as you do) something caught my eye, it was a stand filled with makeup with a $2 price tag, my legs started moving and before I could even register what I was seeing I had walked out the store with more makeup than I needed. (let’s be real, I always need more makeup)

Since we are transitioning into colder weather just like with fashion, make-up changes as well. So I’ve been looking for some warm toned blush and was thrilled to see some warmer neutrals on display. I picked up a blush and eyeshadow (because why not?)  both for $2.

Eye shadow left – The eyeshadow is a really nice brown shade with little flecks of gold glitter through it, which once on the eye you don’t really see. It’s really pretty and is nicely pigmented.

I used this all over the eye on it’s own and it lasted really well throughout the day.

Blush right – The blush is a pretty dusty pink that throws off a little taupe in different lighting.

It does take a little more time to blend and layer to get a nice colour pay off but that didn’t really worry me given the price point.

Unfortunately neither of these products have ‘names’ so if you do go searching for the same products I think these may be the only neutral shades available.

OXX brand also has eyeliner, mascaras, lipsticks and other shadow shades all for $2 each.

Over all I think that these are worth taking a look at if you’re looking to try a cheap makeup alternative to the usual cult favourites.

Have you tried OXX makeup, what did you think? let me know in the comments.

Current Favorite Mascaras

Hey everyone, today I’m reviewing my current favorite mascaras.

These four mascaras are the ones that I’ve found myself reaching for lately and majority of them are relatively cheap. I’m not really into layering mascaras so I use all of these on their own usually doing 2 coats.

W7 Double volume waterproof mascara – I can’t find the prices for this brand on the Chemist Warehouse website but I want to say it was $6

This mascara comes with a 2 step system, step 1 being to coat and separate your lashes and then step 2 which gives your lashes more volume. I have very short sparse lashes and I really enjoy this mascara I think it gives me a little bit of length and lots of volume, with no flaking or transferring onto my skin. and for 6 bucks who’s complaining.

Estee Lauder double wear mascara – $48

This is the only high end mascara I own and I love it, my lovely nanna bought it for me a while ago and I got it because the sales lady had the most lovely eyelashes so that just sold it to me. as I said I have vary short lashes and this just makes them look long and lush.. I don’t know about that price tag though but I do love this mascara it’s just lovely.

Rimmel Extra Super Lash – $10

This mascara is one of those works better when it dries out a bit mascaras, and I’m finding I’m liking it more now then I ever did. it lengthens my lashes and is really black. There’s no flaking and no transferring which is always good. I also find it curls my lashes really well.

W7 Big Lash Mascara – same as the other W7 mascara but again I think its $6

I love this mascara, it’s great I find it gives my lashes lots of length and heaps of volume it’s a very wet formula which really makes my lash hold a curl all day without any flakiness or transferring. I love this mascara so much I got my mum to buy it aswell. The only thing I’ve found is if you do really coat your lashes a few times you can end up with ‘spider’ lashes but if you use a clean spooly to separate them, they look great! I will definitely be re purchasing this mascara.

What is your favorite mascara? I am always on the hunt for new ones.
