Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Hi everyone, today I’m back with a review on the Garnier micellar cleansing water.
Photo 22-11-2014 8 43 15 pm

I’ve seen a few reviews on this product, but like with most things I wanted to trial it myself.

Here’s what Garnier say

For the 1st time by Garnier, Micellar technology is introduced in an all-in-one cleanser. Micells are an active cleansing ingredient which act as a magnet to capture impurities, make-up and sebum on the skin without vigorous rubbing. The result? Perfectly cleansed and refreshed skin without vigorous rubbing or rinsing. A soothing formula without perfume to suit all skin types, even sensitive. Micellar Cleansing Water’s 400mL format corresponds to 200 applications (on a cotton pad).

Ophthalmologically and dermatologically tested.

This stuff is amazing! it should be called miracle water instead because it takes off every scrap of makeup without stinging your face. I use this on a cotton pad after I’ve taken off my makeup with a wipe I let it sit on my eye to get off any stubborn mascara or liner. You can literally swipe once and it will all come off.

I then will use another cotton pad and just wipe it over my face to get off any foundation as well. I will then cleanse as normal.

I’ve heard that the Micellar water is a dupe for the Bioderma, well I can tell you that in Australia Bioderma will set you back about $39 AUD and the Micellar water is about $11 AUD on sale at Priceline now for $8.39 AUD. I can’t comment on the Bioderma but for the price you just can’t go wrong with this gem.

Have you tried this product, do you  like it or hate it? let me know in the comments

Behind Blue Eyes

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a really pretty summer look on my beautiful friend Amber.

Amber 2

Products used

NYX eyeshadow primer

NYX Dream catcher palette

ChiChi Cosmetics bronzes palette

Elf cool palette

Individual flare lashes

Elf dark brown brow kit

Maybelline The falsies big eyes mascara

Generic concealer palette

MAC Match master foundation

Mac Mineralize skin finish powder

W7 Bronzer

LA girl glazed lip paints in blushing

I started out by cleansing Ambers skin with a makeup wipe and then patting the eyeshadow primer all over her eyelid and lower lash line, I then used the matte beige shade from the NYX dream catcher palette all over the lid, followed by the copper shade from the ChiChi bronzes palette over the middle of the eyelid and blending it in circular motions outwards and upwards. I then took the light gold shade and blended that into the copper shade on the outer and inner corners of Ambers eyes. I then tapped a dome brush in the matte brown shade from the ChiChi palette and blended that in a circular motion to blend the lighter metallic toned shadows together.

I then took the navy blue shade from the Elf palette and placed that on Ambers lower lash line a little over half way, and then blended it down. As I didn’t want to risk the colour closing up Ambers eye by taking it all the way to the inner corner. I then placed a few individual false lashes to the outer third of her lash line to thicken her natural lashes and to elongate her eye.

I then used the green toned concealer from my palette and dabbed that on any redness. I then blended the foundation where needed and powdered as usual, I then used some bronzer to warm up the face, filled in her brows and applied mascara.

I finished off the look with the LA girl lip colour in blushing.

Physicians Formula Skincare Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the Physicians Formula Laser resurfacing serum and the Firming and lifting booster.

photo (3)

I got these two products to add to my skincare regime when I was browsing at Priceline (as I do) and spotted these two guys in a bargain bin, they were $49.99 down to $5! AUD So I got both.

I’d been struggling with acne scarring on my jaw line and a few fine lines here and there. So I thought I’d give them a go. I use both products after I’ve cleansed and washed my face at night.

I use a pea size amount of the laser resurfacing serum on my jaw, and on my cheeks and pat it into my skin. And then the firming and lifting booster on my neck, around my mouth and forehead, I then use my Redwins vitamin E moisturiser. Well I saw a difference on day one! My skin just looked plumper and more radiant even my mum saw a difference. My scarring has nearly disappeared and my skin doesn’t look so dull.

I’m loving them so much that I think I’ll have to keep purchasing them for full price because my skin has never looked so good.

Would you be interested in my whole skincare regime? Let me know in the comments.

ModelCo Heated Lash Wand Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the ModelCo turbo heated lash wand.

I’ve always wanted to try out a heated eyelash curler, and when I saw this little guy in Woolworths down from $24 AUD to something like $4!! (I KNOW) I snatched it up straight away. Unfortunately as I have very short sparse lashes I don’t think I get to showcase this little product in all its glory, because well I just couldn’t tell if it did anything, or if I was just wishing it did.

Never the less I have a before and after.

Now I’m looking at it closer, I think I notice more of a difference in the last photo. I do like it and if anything since it’s cold I like the warm feeling on my eye.

To use it I turn it on and let it warm up for a few seconds, and then press the side that looks like a comb through my lashes a few times until I thought my lashes looked curled, as I said, I don’t think it makes a huge difference, but for the price I couldn’t go past it. But I don’t think I’d spend the full amount on it.

What do you think, did it make a difference?

Winter Favourites

Hey everyone, today I’m back with my winter favorites!

Here in Australia we are in the dead of winter so I thought that it’s only fitting that I put together my winter favourites.

photo (2)

1. Redwin Vitamin E Cream

I’ve already got a blog post on this product here but basically this cream is the BEST usually I have the driest most scaly skin in the winter but this year my skin has stayed nice and soft.

2. Physicians Formula firming and lifting booster

This product is so good! I put it on my neck, around my mouth, under my brow bone, forehead and cheeks BUT I strategically place it so I’m not just rubbing it all over my face. I use one pea size amount to dab on those key points to keep my skins elasticity in those places.

3. Physicians Formula laser resurfacing booster

Again another product that I use in conjunction with the top 2 at night, this product I like to use 1 pump of and pat it in on my jaw line which is where I have some acne scaring. which is now nearly all gone thanks to this product! Ill have a review up on these 2 guys in the coming days so watch out for that!

4. L’oréal Revitalift Magic Blur

This stuff is amazing! again I have a blog post on it here but basically this is the best stuff for blurring pores.

5. Estée Lauder Silky powder blush

I have this blush in the colour 11 Nude Rose and have been using it alone all winter and its just the perfect deep shade that doesn’t really need any bronzer to warm up my face

6. L’oréal True Match Foundation

This is my all time favourite foundation I’m in the colour N4, it’s really nice on the skin and doesn’t look cakey at all I have a review on this here

7. Schwarzkopf Hair Repair

Again I’ve reviewed this product previously here, hair in the winter can become dry and brittle so I find that this product really helps keep my hair soft.

8. Face of Australia Glossy Lip Crayon in Berry Brulé

This has been my quick ‘throw on and go’ lip colour. It is so pretty for the winter months and is also really moisturising.

9. Victorias Secret Coconut Passion

Keeping your skin hydrated in Winter is so super important. so I always try and lather myself up at night and this cream smells amazing and is very rich so it keeps my skin from getting cracked and dry.

10. Lucus Paw Paw Ointment

I forgot to put this in my picture, but basically its a red tube of miracle balm. this stuff fixes anything from sunburn, to cracked lips and I have gone through about 10 tubes of this stuff, and always make sure I have a jar of it on my dressing table. I only usually use it to keep my lips from getting cracked.

What are your winter favorites? take a photo and use  #Cassieswinterfavourites on instagram to show me!

Big brows you are beautiful

Hey everyone, today I have a little how-to post for you!

Brows have been BIG lately like literally everyone wants to have beautiful big bushy eyebrows, well I can tell you that when this trend came in  I definitely looked at my thin brows differently and so the process of growing them out began.

If you’ve ever grown your brows out then you know my pain, but I’ve always tried to keep clean brows by regularly plucking a bit here and there where possible.

Today though I’m going to show you how to hand pluck your eyebrows into the shape you want.

Here are the tools you’ll need.

  • Small scissors
  • Spooly
  • Tweezers (here I’ve used a straight pair form Kmart)

image (88)

Starting out of course with your natural brows, here are mine.

image (85)

And the using your tweezers, line it up like below (I like to use a white eyeliner pencil to make a mark so I know where I’m plucking)

Starting with a straight line from the side of your nose and so on, (use the photo for reference)

This will help you identify where the start of your brow is, the arch and the tail of your brow. Pluck slowly and be sure to step away from the mirror to get a better look at the overall appearance.

image (86)

Pluck any other stray hairs as needed. Now you could stop there, but I like to finish off by doing the next few steps.

Brush brows upwards.

image (89)

The longer hairs will stay upwards above the brow line, like shown.

image (90)

Trim as needed. If you choose to do these steps please be very careful at this stage. If you get too scissor happy you could end up creating bald spots in your brow.

image (91)

After you’ve finished you should be left with a much neater tamed brow, iust fill them in as needed. If you’d like to know how I fill in my brows click here

What little tricks do you use to pluck your eyebrows? be sure to share them in the comments.

Elf Lock and Seal Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back to talk about a product that has been used in a few of my looks lately.

And that’s the elf makeup lock and seal

photo (1)

This stuff is amazing for foiling powder pigments and apparently also makes products waterproof, such as, after filling in your eyebrows with a powder product, if you take some of the lock and seal and swipe it over the top the powder stays in place all day. As it is a liquid product you only need about one drop for any look you are creating. Although I haven’t tried this first hand I could definitely see how it could work.

I personally just use mine to foil powders. Although it does come with a little blending brush and small dish to mix colours I haven’t used either, and tend to mix products on a palette.

When I first started getting into makeup I used to use plain old water – and that does work, but the pigments aren’t as intense as when I use this product.

I bought this amazing product awhile ago and still have so much left. I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it and buying a backup.

You can pick this product up at your local Kmart for $8.00AUD
