Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the Australis Fresh and Flawless pressed powder foundation.

This powder is a known cult favourite amongst the Australian beauty blogging/vlogging community and I wasn’t so sure I was going to try it out since I was so attached to my Rimmel stay matte pressed powder, but a  trip to Priceline got the better of me (as it usually does) and I picked it up along with some lip liners, because who ever comes out with only one thing? not me that’s for sure.

This powder retails for $11.95 AUD from Priceline, who are currently having a 3 for 2 on all Australis products on their website.

There are three colours to choose from, dark brown, natural and deep natural. I chose the colour dark brown and find it matches my olive toned skin nicely. but could really match someone with even fairer skin as it is quite a nice beige shade.

As soon as I set my foundation with this powder I could see why it is so loved, it feels so silky smooth on the skin and blends like a dream. I love using this powder over all of my foundations but especially my heavier liquid foundations as it does give some extra coverage but doesn’t ever look cakey, so it’s perfect for occasions when you know you’ll be photographed.

I like to use my Real Techniques buffing brush to buff it into my skin to give a nice airbrushed finish. I definitely think this powder could take the place of my Rimmel stay matte pressed powder just because the formula is so nice.

Have you tried this pressed powder, do you like it? let me know in the comments

I started out by brushing fawn all over my lid as a base and blended camel into my crease, I then used the deep teal shade to map out where I wanted my wing to be. I used a small synthetic brush and in small sections I dabbed on lash glue, and using a wet small brush I picked up the green glitter and placed it on the glue, I did this until the wing was covered in the green glitter. (You could use a black liner to map out the wing, but I found that using a similar shade to the glitter you’re using just means that if you do see any of the shadow/liner, it will blend in)

I took a little bit of the teal, and the dark brown shade and blended that on my lower lash line and prepped my lashes for falsies. For this look I used my biggest and most dramatic lashes, but to make this look a little more wearable you could use a wispy lash.

I buffed in my foundation, and filled in my brows as usual and contoured my cheeks, I then used a muted rose blush shade, and a rose gold highlight to finish off my skin. I kept my skin very neutral as I wanted most of the attention on my eyes. I finished off my look with a a bright red glossy lip using Limecrimes retrofuturist all over and dabbing the LA girl glazed lip paint in the center.

I had so much fun with this look, and you could change the colour of the glitter to make this suitable for a New Years Eve look.

Modern Pin up look

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a modern pin up inspired look.

Today I found a spare hour to sit down and put together this look, I knew I wanted to do something clean and fun and I think this modern pin up inspired look is really pretty.

Products used

Eyes

Nyx Eyeshadow primer

Chi Chi bronzes palette

Maybeline Gel liner

Napoleon Glitter liner

120 Ardell lashes

Skin

L’oreal True Match Foundation

Generic Concealer palette

Elf high definition powder

Rimmel Stay Matte powder

W7 Bronzer

Generic red blush

Mac Mineralize skin finish in Lightscapade

Brows

Nyx brow pencil in brown

Maybelline color tattoo in Taugh as taupe

Lips

Essence red lip liner

Nyx round lipstick in true red

I started out by patting the nyx eyeshshadow primer on my lid as always, followed by a beige eyeshadow from my Models prefer palette. Using a dense flat eyeshadow brush I packed the product all over my eyelid, followed by the lightest champagne shade from my Chi Chi bronzes palette on my brow bone. Once I’d blended that together so it was seamless I placed a very light brown shade through my crease. You want this to look like your eyelid, but better. The main focus is the liner and lips.

I then used the gel black liner to make a cat eye liner followed then by the silver Napoleon glitter liner, following the black liner. I then put on my lashes and perfected my skin.

Using my L’oreal true match as usual I buffed that into my skin, and then contoured and highlighted using the dark brown and pale yellow shade in my generic concealer palette, using a damp beauty blender to blend that all together. I then filled in my brows as usual while my foundation sunk in.

I set my under eye concealer using the elf HD powder and the rest of my face with Rimmel stay matte powder. I then bronzed my face and added a light flush to my cheeks with a small amount of red/pink blush.

I finished off this pin up inspired look with of course cherry red lips, using the lip liner first to make sure the lipstick doesn’t feather.

A black cat eye and red lip is such a timeless look, and I think the added glitter makes it modern and fun.

All products mentioned are my own

Winter Favourites

Hey everyone, today I’m back with my winter favorites!

Here in Australia we are in the dead of winter so I thought that it’s only fitting that I put together my winter favourites.

photo (2)

1. Redwin Vitamin E Cream

I’ve already got a blog post on this product here but basically this cream is the BEST usually I have the driest most scaly skin in the winter but this year my skin has stayed nice and soft.

2. Physicians Formula firming and lifting booster

This product is so good! I put it on my neck, around my mouth, under my brow bone, forehead and cheeks BUT I strategically place it so I’m not just rubbing it all over my face. I use one pea size amount to dab on those key points to keep my skins elasticity in those places.

3. Physicians Formula laser resurfacing booster

Again another product that I use in conjunction with the top 2 at night, this product I like to use 1 pump of and pat it in on my jaw line which is where I have some acne scaring. which is now nearly all gone thanks to this product! Ill have a review up on these 2 guys in the coming days so watch out for that!

4. L’oréal Revitalift Magic Blur

This stuff is amazing! again I have a blog post on it here but basically this is the best stuff for blurring pores.

5. Estée Lauder Silky powder blush

I have this blush in the colour 11 Nude Rose and have been using it alone all winter and its just the perfect deep shade that doesn’t really need any bronzer to warm up my face

6. L’oréal True Match Foundation

This is my all time favourite foundation I’m in the colour N4, it’s really nice on the skin and doesn’t look cakey at all I have a review on this here

7. Schwarzkopf Hair Repair

Again I’ve reviewed this product previously here, hair in the winter can become dry and brittle so I find that this product really helps keep my hair soft.

8. Face of Australia Glossy Lip Crayon in Berry Brulé

This has been my quick ‘throw on and go’ lip colour. It is so pretty for the winter months and is also really moisturising.

9. Victorias Secret Coconut Passion

Keeping your skin hydrated in Winter is so super important. so I always try and lather myself up at night and this cream smells amazing and is very rich so it keeps my skin from getting cracked and dry.

10. Lucus Paw Paw Ointment

I forgot to put this in my picture, but basically its a red tube of miracle balm. this stuff fixes anything from sunburn, to cracked lips and I have gone through about 10 tubes of this stuff, and always make sure I have a jar of it on my dressing table. I only usually use it to keep my lips from getting cracked.

What are your winter favorites? take a photo and use  #Cassieswinterfavourites on instagram to show me!

elf Essential Blush Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the elf essential blush.

image (83)

I have two of these, in the colours Blushing and Flushed.

image (84)

I love flushed as an every day colour on my cheeks, and find myself reaching for it the most. Its a beautiful mauve shade that looks really nice with my skin tone – but could suit anyone from very pale to very dark skin tones and that’s what I love most about this shade.

Unfortunately I cant say the same for blushing this is the complete opposite. its very chalky and doesn’t show up that well. Both these blushes have small flecks of glitter in them which in flushed I don’t notice at all, but with blushing that’s all my brush picks up which I was so sad about because I just love the other shade.

I guess you can’t get it right all the time and there are so many more hits with elf than there are misses I’ve found, and for such an affordable brand you can’t complain that much.

You can pick these blushes up at your local Kmart and online at elfcosmetics.com.au for $5 AUD

Have you tried these blushes, do you like them?

Elf Studio Matte Lip Color Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the elf studio matte lip colour.

image (81)

I am a sucker for lip products so when I saw these online I snatched them up. I have the colours natural and tea rose.

image (82)

I love these two colours, I like to wear natural in the summer and tea rose in the winter. I think the colour pay off is great and all the colours available look so pretty.

The only thing I don’t like is that they are a little bit drying on my lips. So to combat that, I like to use a chap stick or some kind of balm before applying the product.

Elf market these as a jumbo lipstick pencil, but I personally use them alone as a lipstick because the colours are so nice and I don’t think they need anything on top because they are so matte. But if you did want to, you could put a clear gloss over the top or in the middle of the bottom lip to add a little bit extra to your look.

I’m not sure if you can buy these in Kmart but you can purchase them online at elf.com.au for $8AUD

I’m now thinking of going and buying all of them because they are so versatile!

Winter Nail Polish

Hey everyone, today I’m back with my favourite nail polish colours for winter some are a little cliché and others not so much.

LtR

Top row – OPI Black Onyx, Butter London Royal Navy, Essie Tomboy no more, Elf Lilac, Butter London Hen Party

Bottom row – YSL Ambre Gingembre, Leighton Denny Pure paradise, OPI Amazon Amazoff, Essie Chocolate Cakes, Butter London Wellies & Silly Billy.

I Love my dark nail colours in the winter as much as the next girl, but I also really love some some bright shades that I think can transition into the cold winter months.

Orange, white, lime & murky greens and purples is what I really like. I just think that as much as I love a good taupe & dark nail, I always love some colour and try to incorporate it into my look wherever I can (But that’s just me)

Orange and green just get left out in the nail polish world, unless it’s runway or for a collection you dont see it a lot on the every day woman and I think that you’re missing out. they are such pretty colours for winter!

What shades do you love, What nail colour are you rocking at the moment?
