Napoleon Perdis Blush Patrol Review

Hey everyone,

Before I get into the review, I thought I’d explain my lack of posts. I’ve been a bit MIA lately and haven’t posted in a hot minute. And there’s no reason for it other than that I wasn’t really feeling it, Blogging started to feel more like a chore rather than something I loved.

so I took a step back and gave it a rest, But I’m so excited to be back and better than ever!

Now back to what’s really important!

Today I’m back with a review on the Napoleon Perdis Blush Patrol.

Spring has sprung here in Australia meaning we are trading matte skin and dark vampy lips for bronzy glowing skin and soft lip shades. And this is the perfect product to help ease into the season.

Although this is marketed as a blush, I have never and probably will never use it as one. This ‘blush’ is so beautiful and shimmery that I use it as a highlight.

It’s a gorgeous rose gold shade that makes your skin look like it’s been kissed by the sun. And who doesn’t want that right?

I find myself reaching for this product every morning, whether I’m going to work or just hanging out at home.

I use mine with a small tapered highlight brush on the high points of my cheeks, under my brows, tip of my nose and cupids bow. You could spray your brush with some Fix+ and use it wet for a really intense look.

I think this product would suit all skin tones. Depending on how heavy handed you are with it, as it does have a lot of colour in it because it’s technically a blush.

You can pick this up at Napoleon counters or online here for AUD $60

Essence Cosmetics Soo glow Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the essence soo glow cream to powder highlighter.

Photo 25-06-2015 5 16 26 pm

I picked this highlighter up while I was at Target getting some essence lip liners, which I absolutely love love love!! (a story for another day) when I saw this guy calling out to me. Now usually I’m not that into cream highlighters, but as we are moving into winter and my skin is looking a little dry and dreary I thought Id give it a try.

This product is very creamy when you first apply it, and sheers out to a beautiful champagne shade and then dries down like a powder which is something that I have never used before. And I really like it! I find that its so easy to use either under or over foundation and looks so naturally pretty.

The product looks quite shimmery, but using a small amount and working it into your skin makes a really big difference.

I picked this up for around $4-$6 AUD I can’t remember exactly, but I know it wasn’t expensive at all.

I’m really liking this product, and for the price I can’t really fault it.

Cetaphil Suntivity Sunscreen Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the Cetaphil Suntivity spf 30 ultra-light fluid face sunscreen.Photo 18-05-2015 10 59 39 am

Let me start by saying that I love this sunscreen, I have been looking everywhere for a lightweight sunscreen that is suitable for under my makeup and also just to throw on when I’m out in the sun and I think I’ve found everything I want and more with this product. It’s thin in consistency, doesn’t leave a white cast on my face and doesn’t make my face look like more of an oil slick than it already is.

Cetaphil say that this sunscreen is;

-Broad Spectrum

-Oil Free

-4 hours wear

-Fragrance free

-Won’t block pores

-Suitable for wear under makeup

I can definitely say that this sunscreen is oil free and doesn’t block pores, because if it wasn’t oil free and did block my pores my skin would have told me it was unhappy within the first few hours. This sunscreen doesn’t have any fragrance that I’ve noticed, it just smells like sunscreen if that makes sense. I have been wearing this product every day under my makeup and have found that it just sinks into my skin so well, I have even used a powder foundation on top of it so that just shows how little residue it leaves on the skin.

I am loving this product and can’t believe I have gone for so long without wearing a sunscreen (in my defence I have been looking for one!)

I picked this gem up at Chemist Warehouse for $13.39 AUD

Have you tried this sunscreen, do you have another sunscreen that you swear by? let me know in the comments

Urban Decay Naked Palette Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the cult favourite Urban Decay Naked palette.

Photo 13-05-2015 11 15 31 am (1)

Urban Decay finally launched in Australia at Mecca Maxima earlier this year and I was super excited to pick something up from the brand, I was umming and ahhing over what I wanted to get and finally settled on getting the beauty community’s number one love, the original naked palette.

There are currently three naked palettes from the brand but I decided to go with the original as the colours in this palette appealed to me the most.

Swatched left to right

Virgin

Side Car

Half Baked

Creep

Gun Metal

I’ll start by saying I really like this palette, I think the colours are really wearable for both day and night. The formula is nice, I did find that creep wasn’t super pigmented when swatched but is able to be built up on the eye to make it a little more pigmented, and the more lighter shimmery shades and very pretty on the eye.

As much as I do really like this palette I unfortunately don’t think its worth the $78 AUD.

The colours are really pretty and neutral and for that reason I think it’s a lot of money for something that is just that, neutral. and I’m not finding that I’m reaching for it as much as I thought I would which is a bummer.

If you are on the hunt for a neutral palette I find I use my Too faced chocolate palette a lot more and it’s a little cheaper.

Do you have the Naked palette, what do you think? let me know in the comments.

Lush Tea Tree Water Toner Review

Hey everyone, today I’m back with a review on the Lush Tea tree water toner water.

Photo 25-04-2015 8 38 44 pm

For those of you who don’t know I have really oily skin, I’m talking UAE oil rig status and with that comes god awful sore pimples and other goodies.. TMI? okay well you get the picture.

So unfortunately I have committed skin care cardinal sin and use Proactiv as my current skin care routine, I know this stuff is pretty harsh on the skin but when you’re struggling with break outs and find something that works, you know I’m going to hold onto that with both hands. I have however been trying to find some more gentle skin care products to try and phase out my current routine and boy am I glad I found this little gem.

I came across this toner water when I was lining up at Lush with my arms full of as much Snow fairy body wash a girl could carry (a story for another time) and as I was waiting in the line going out the door, the lovely sales assistant introduced me to my skins new best friend.

This toner water is a blend of a Tea Tree Water (Melaleuca alternifolia), Grapefruit Water (Citrus paradisi)Juniperberry Water (Juniperus communis), *Limonene (*Limonene), Perfume (Perfume), Methylparaben. This toner is amazing, it’s calming on the skin and feels so refreshing and makes my skin look plumper. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to do that but my skin definitely looks more supple. Don’t let seeing the word perfume there scare you away either, I don’t notice a smell at all.

I have slipped this into my routine to replace my original toner and my skin didn’t react horribly, which in itself is amazing since I can’t change my moisturiser without my skin having a fit.

this toner retails for $9.95AUD for a 100g bottle or $19.95AUD for a 250g bottle (pictured above) It doesn’t feel like I’ve even made a dent in my bottle and I’ve had it for a few weeks now.

I apply my toner by holding the bottle a few centimetres away from my face and spraying it directly on my skin, you could also spray it onto a cotton round and pat it on your skin.

I definitely think it is worth the money and can’t see myself living without it now.

Have you used this product, did you love it as much as me? let me know in the comments
